What A Good Morning Text To Your Child Looks Like

A good morning text to your child names them, names one real thing, and does not turn into a sermon they have to earn.

OFW fathers, night-shift fathers, fathers already on the road — the phone can be a thin thread. Thin is still a thread if it is kind.

What should the text actually say?

"Good morning, bunso. I saw the drawing you left. I am proud you tried." Specific. Not "be good." Be good is a job. A drawing is a relationship.

How often?

Often enough that it is weather, not a holiday. Missing two days is human. Missing in such a way that they stop expecting you is a pattern.

What if they do not reply?

Children are not your audience. Send anyway. The point is they can find you later in the thread when they need a father in writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a sticker enough?
A sticker is a wave. Add one word of your own when you can. Waves are fine. Voices are better.

What if I am embarrassed of my English or spelling?
Use the language you actually speak at home. Love is not a grammar test.
