How To Sit With Your Wife After A Bad Day

You sit with your wife after a bad day by arriving as a person first: water, a look, one sentence. The office novel can wait until she has also landed.

Many husbands come home as a complaint with shoes. The wife becomes unpaid HR. That is not intimacy. That is another shift.

What is the first minute?

Ask how she is before you unload. If both of you are wrecked, agree on ten quiet minutes. Silence together is still sitting with her.

How much of the work story belongs at home?

The feeling, not the org chart. "I was shamed in a meeting" is enough. Replaying every email is how the house becomes the office annex.

What if she wants to fix it?

Tell her you need a witness, not a manager, unless you ask. Men who only want a witness must also be a witness when it is her day.

Frequently asked questions

What if I do not want to talk at all?
Say that kindly and still sit. Absence plus silence is abandonment. Presence plus silence can be rest.

What if the bad day was about money?
Use a list, not a mood. Money as a mood becomes a fight. Money as a page becomes a plan.
