The Man Who Keeps A Calendar For Other People's Needs

The man who keeps a calendar for other people's needs still needs one square that says his name, or he will wake up used and call it being mabait.

Birthdays, paluwagan, OT, a cousin's move. Useful men get booked like halls. Halls do not get a nap.

How do you see the pattern?

Look at last month. If every shaded day is someone else's emergency, you are not kind. You are infrastructure.

What do you add?

One recurring block: gym, sleep, a walk, a date that is not a chore. Guard it like a shift. People can survive you having a Tuesday.

What do you delete?

The events you attend only from guilt. Guilt is a crowded calendar's favorite ink.

Frequently asked questions

Is this selfish in a family?
A family with a burned-out man is not a family with more love. It is a family with more explosions.

What if they override your block anyway?
Sometimes yes. Then you reschedule the block, not cancel the idea of having one.
