How To Keep Your Word On Small Things

You keep your word on small things by promising less and finishing what you already said — the text, the pickup, the P200, the "I'll call."

People do not remember your speech about integrity. They remember whether you came.

Why do small promises matter more?

Because they happen often. A man can be grand once and flaky daily. Daily is the character the house lives inside.

What if you cannot do it?

Say so before the hour. "I cannot at 7. I can at 8." Late truth is still better than a silent hole.

How do you rebuild if you have been flaky?

Pick one recurring yes and keep it for a month. Do not announce the rebuild. Let them notice the pattern.

The Filipino Men would rather a man keep a small promise than announce a large future.

Frequently asked questions

Is this about being rigid?
No. It is about being readable. Emergencies happen. A lifestyle of broken yeses is not an emergency.

What is one promise to start with?
The one you already keep saying and missing. Start there. That is the leak.
